My wife and I are writing this letter to express our appreciation for the outstanding rehabilitation care she received while recently a patient at Geisinger HealthSouth.  On April 19, my wife,  who is 87 years “young”, unfortunately broke her hip at home, and was taken,  at our request, to the Geisinger Medical Center for emergency surgery.  Less than a week later, she was transferred to your rehabilitation hospital.  We were so pleased with all the care that she received there until her discharge on May 13.  The doctors, nurses, physical therapists and staff were extremely competent, and the facilities were just superb.  In addition, as her husband, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable during my daily visits, included in her daily physical therapy sessions, and even given meals!  It was most therapeutic to both of us to take my wife outside in her wheelchair to enjoy the spring weather on your beautiful and tranquil grounds surrounding the facility.

Although my wife and I live about 35 miles away from the Geisinger Medical Center, we would not think of going anywhere else for medical treatment and care in the future.  Congratulations and our thanks to all who have contributed in every respect to realizing her continued healing and making life less stressful for us during this trying time.
